How to Disable Rootkit Scan - Avast Internet Security 2013

The following steps are applicable to disable automatic Rootkit scan on Avast Internet Security: 1. Open Avast's main menu 2. Click on Settings > Troubleshooting tab 3. Uncheck "Enable rootkit scan on system startup" (See below screenshot)
