Error on Reboot Restore Rx: Hibernate data not found. How can I fix this?
Posted by , Last modified by Jester Santos on 23 Oct 2015

On a rare occasion - When you use Reboot Restore Rx on Windows 8/8.1 machine, you might get an error:  Hibernate data not found (See below screenshot)

This error happens when you have Windows 8/8.1 Fast Startup enabled while Reboot Restore Rx is loading at startup.

In order to resolve this error, disable Windows 8/8.1 fast startup by following the below steps.

You must be signed in as an administrator to be able to do the steps :

1. Open the Control Panel (icons view), and click on the Power Options icon.

2. Click/tap on the Choose what the power buttons do link on the left side. (see screenshot below)

3. Click/tap on the Change settings that are currently unavailable link at the top. (see screenshot below)

4. Under Shutdown settings, uncheck the Turn on fast startup box, and click/tap on the Save changes button. (see screenshot below)

NOTE: If the Turn on fast startup setting is not listed, then hibernate has been disabled that removed this setting and also disabled fast startup

You have now disabled Windows 8/8.1 fast startup. You should now not receive the error any more.
