How To Uninstall RollBack Rx Professional And Reboot Restore Rx Pro (Version 12)

Sometimes we need to uninstall RollBack Rx Professional or Reboot Restore Rx Pro for any number of reasons, but doing so correctly will mean we are able to reset our Product ID automatically. Meaning that the Product ID will be ready for use again. This guide will detail how to uninstall the software so that you have a means to use the Product ID again immediately. When uninstalling the software, it's worth noting that there are two separate components of the software. The first is your pre-OS component, the subconsole. You'll see this when you see the RollBack Rx Professional or Reboot Restore Rx Pro splash screen load prior to Windows loading. The other is the Windows client. This is the part of the program you interact with when you're within Windows. In order for the program to be fully removed and for the Product ID to be reset, both the subconsole and the Windows client need to be removed. Uninstalling From A Single MachineIf you are uninstalling the program from a single machine, or don't wish to mass uninstall your clients, this is how you'd uninstall the software. OPTION 1: Uninstalling From The SubconsoleThe recommended method to uninstall from a single machine is to uninstall from the subconsole. This will remove both components easily and with no additional effort required. First you need to login to the program via the subconsole. To access the subconsole, click the HOME key on your keyboard when you see the subconsole loading before Windows. Once you've logged in, navigate with your arrow keys to Uninstall and select the option by clicking Enter. If you are uninstalling RollBack Rx Professional, it'll ask you to select a state/snapshot to uninstall to. Reboot Restore Rx Pro will uninstall to the current system state. OPTION 2: Running The UninstallerReboot Restore Rx Pro and RollBack Rx Professional both include Uninstaller tools that can be ran to uninstall the software. To locate the uninstaller, look under either Program Files or Program Files (x86) for a folder labeled 'Shield'. This folder contains Reboot Restore Rx Pro and RollBack Rx Professional and its various tools. Once the folder is located, locate the application titled 'Uninstall'. Run the uninstaller tool and follow the prompts to uninstall. IMPORTANT: When uninstalling via this method, it will only remove the Windows Client. to remove the subconsole and reset the license, you need to reboot the machine once the steps are complete while still connected to the internet. OPTION 3: Add/Remove ProgramYou can remove the program by finding it and remove it from the Add/Remove screen or equivalent. To access, follow these steps as per your OS: Windows 11: 1) Press the Windows Key or select Start; in the search bar, type in "Apps and Features" 2) Locate Reboot Restore Rx Pro or RollBack Rx Professional. 3) Click on the three dots for menu selection, and choose 'Uninstall' Windows 10: 1) Press the Windows Key or select Start; click on Settings, above the Power button in Windows. 2) Search 'Add or Remove Programs' 3) Locate Reboot Restore Rx Pro or RollBack Rx Professional. 4) Select and choose 'Uninstall' Windows 8 and 7: 1) Press the Windows Key or select Start; Select 'Control Panel'. 2) Select Programs (Windows 7) or Programs & Features (Windows 8/8.1). 3) Under Programs/Programs and Features, locate Reboot Restore Rx Pro or RollBack Rx Professional. 4) Select the program then select 'Uninstall'. Uninstalling From The Endpoint ManagerUninstalling from each machine can be a monotonous and tiring task, but fortunately our Endpoint Manager comes equipped with the ability to issue an uninstall command to clients connected to the tool. Issuing the command will initiate a reboot which will then trigger an uninstall from the subconsole. This will remove both the subconsole and the client. From either program's Endpoint Manager you can select a client, selection of clients, or a group; and when you right-click you'll see an option to issue an Uninstall command. Requesting A Product ID ResetReimaging, reformatting a machine, re-installing the OS, or uninstalling on a machine not connected to the internet will use up activations since you did not uninstall it properly. Our server will not know if the license is freed up if you did not uninstall it while connected to the internet. Or in some rare instances, the ID did not reset despite uninstalling both the subconsole and client. If you get an error message saying that you've exceeded the maximum number of activations. Once we've verified your account, we'll be able to reset the Product ID.
