Issue

When attempting to sign in to the Endpoint Manager console, you receive the error message: "Login Server Failure: Target object is online." This prevents you from logging in

Cause

This error occurs because the specific user account (often the Administrator) you are trying to use is already logged in to the Endpoint Manager somewhere else.

This happens if:
  • Another window or instance of the Endpoint Manager console is already - running on the same computer.
  • The same user account (e.g., Administrator) is currently logged into the console on a different computer.
Key Restriction: You cannot use the same administrator account to log into the Endpoint Manager console simultaneously from multiple locations or instances.

Solution

You must ensure that the user account is signed out everywhere before trying to log in again.

1. If the Console UI  is on the same PC as the Server
  • Open your Task Manager.
  • Close/end the process for all open instances of the Endpoint Manager application.
  • Attempt to log in again.

2. If you are using a separate PC with the console UI only

  • Verify that the same user account is not logged in on any other computer
  • If you suspect it is, go to that other PC and either sign out normally or use the Task Manager to end the application process.
