How to Install on a Multi-Boot PC

Follow the steps here on how to install RollBack Rx/Reboot Restore client on a multi-boot PC

Multi-Boot Limitations

- These steps are limited to Windows OS only - using the standard Windows boot configuration
- The snapshot data/history is shared between all protected Windows OSs.
- You only need a single license key per PC for this configuration

In the example we'll be using a dual boot configuration of Windows 11 and Windows 10 and using RollBack Rx Pro

(1) Boot up to the first  OS (in this example Windows 10)

OS selection

(2) Download and run setup.exe for the RollBack Rx Pro client

(3) Select "Custom" install

custom install

(4) On this first OS (Windows 10)

Select the 2nd option: This computer has multiple boots of Windows OS. This is one of the OS I need to install the product

Multu-boot-1

(5) If you get a partition select screen, select all partitions

(6) It should finish the installation and close.
Unlike a typical installation it will not ask to reboot the PC. The RollBack Rx Pro application will also not work yet at this time.

TIP: Repeat the above steps on the 2nd operation system if you have more than 2 Windows OSes on your multi-boot setup

(7) Manually reboot the PC and then select your final OS (Windows 11)

OS selection 2

(8) Run setup.exe for the RollBack Rx Pro client

(7) Select "Custom" install

(8) On this 2nd OS (Windows 11)

Select the 3rd option: The computer has multiple boots of Windows OS and I have installed in all the other OS. This is the final OS I need to install the product

(9) Select all intended protected partitions when prompted

(10) Setup will prompt to reboot once finished and will proceed to install the RollBack Rx bootloader/subconsole to completely install RollBack Rx Pro on both OS instances
