Free Updates vs. Paid Upgrades

Horizon DataSys offers two types of product updates: minor updates and major upgrades.

Minor Updates

  • What they are: Free updates within the same major version number (e.g., from v12.0 to v12.7)
  • Who gets them: All customers are entitled to free minor updates (within their purchased version) . If you haven't purchased an annual support plan, you'll need to check our website periodically for these as minor updates are not automatic

Major Upgrades

  • What they are: Paid upgrades to a new major version number (e.g., from v12 to v13).  These typically include significant new features and improvements.

  • Who gets them:

    • Customers with an Active Annual Maintenance Package. You receive major upgrades at no additional cost. Your plan also includes prioritized technical support. The annual maintenance package can only be purchased at the time of your initial software purchase.

    • Customers without an Annual Maintenance Package. You must purchase a new license at the full list price to get a major upgrade. You are not required to upgrade and can continue using your previous version with basic technical support.

New Release Upgrade Guarantee

If a new major version of our software is released within 60 days of your purchase, you are entitled to a free upgrade to the new version.


Specific Upgrade Notes

  • Reboot Restore Standard and Enterprise
    • Version 13 was officially released on May 27, 2025

  • RollBack Rx Pro & Reboot Restore Rx Pro:

    • Version 12 was officially released on February 11, 2022.

    • Version 11 was officially released on July 2, 2018 (RollBack Rx Pro) and September 17, 2018 (Reboot Restore Rx Pro).

  • Rollback Rx Pro v10:

    • Licenses for Rollback Rx 9.1 purchased on or after November 23, 2012, were eligible for a free upgrade to v10.x.

    • If you own a v10.0 license, you can get a free key for v10.2 due to a change in license format. Submit a support ticket with your order details to receive your new key.

  • Drive Vaccine v10:

    • The official release date was May 1, 2013. Only purchases made within 60 days of this date were eligible for a free upgrade.
